Welcome
Be Still… exploring silent prayer in the Christian Tradition
Be Still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46).
When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you (Matthew 6 vs 6).
A very warm welcome to Be Still, the Chichester Contemplative Prayer Group based in the Cathedral City of Chichester, UK. We provide opportunities in this busy world to stop and sit in peace with others, and with God.
We are an ecumenical group, and we welcome people from all faiths and none. We meet twice a month on Zoom for readings and for quiet, meditative prayer.
Next meetings are on 7th and 21st July
We have been reflecting on the life and writings of
St Charles de Foucault,
and will now be looking at the life and writings of one of his followers, Carlo Carretto
We are also planning our next Saturday Study Day which will be on October 17th
when Canon Earl Collins will speak on
Prayer and the Spanish Mystics
If you would like further information, please email us at bestillchichester@btinternet.com .
In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be your strength (Isaiah 30 vs 15)
